TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will play one final non-conference match this Wednesday, March 8 vs. Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Rockets look to earn a win before Mid-American Conference play begins next weekend at home vs. Eastern Michigan.
About the Rockets
Toledo (8-3) split the first two matches of its spring break trip over the weekend, defeating Louisiana Tech before falling to USF the following afternoon. No.1 doubles team of
Sloane Teske and
Mariona Perez won both of their matches and have won the last three together. Perez, who played at the No.3 court this weekend, was the only Rocket to come out of the weekend 2-0 in singles play.
Cassie Alcala (No.1) and Teske (No.2) both take 9-2 records into Wednesday's match. Alcala's two losses have been decided in three sets.
About Florida Gulf Coast
FGCU is coming off a 7-0 sweep over Army on Monday morning to improve to an 8-3 overall record. After securing the doubles team point, the Eagles took all six singles courts by two-set except for Isabella Colmenares at the No.3 court who forced her match to go to three sets.
