Madison Giglio heads to NCAA Zone C Diving Championships and seven swimmers head to CSCAA National Invitational Championships

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming and diving team will have seven swimmers and one diver begin postseason competition this weekend in Indiana. Madison Giglio will compete at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships this Thursday-Friday, March 9-10 in Bloomington, Ind. The swimmers will compete at the 2023 CSCAA National invitational Championships this Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11 in Elkhart, Ind.

Last Time Out
Toledo took seventh with 215 team points at the 2023 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Oxford, Ohio last month. Individually, Lauren Kilgore and Kennedy Lovell were each named second-team All-MAC for their performance in the pool. As a team, the Rockets recorded 36 personal-best times, 15 season-best swims, and had 10 podium finishes over four days of competition.

Toledo at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships
Giglio qualified for NCAA Zones in the one-meter (275.10 *PR) and three-meter (308.70) both vs. Ohio on Jan. 20. At last season's meet, Giglio finished 37^th in the prelims of both the one-meter and three-meter.

Zone C of the NCAA Diving Championships is allowed nine spots on the one-meter, 10 spots on the three-meter, and nine spots on the platform into the NCAA Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. Next week (March 15-18). Any diver that qualifies for the NCAA Championships will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, as long as that diver finished in the top-12 at the same zone meet and has scored the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.

Toledo will send Madeline Blakely, Lindsey Creek, Alexis Schrecongost, Lovell, Janne Slegers, Paul Pavillard-Salvador and Pressler to the CSCAA NIC..

Last season, Toledo finished 24 with 70 team points at the CSCAA NIC, with Jovanna Duric, Molly Pressler, Sydney Conrad, and Lovell in the pool. Lovell set a school record in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:47.17.
