Toledo Visits Miami for Mid-Week Series, Hosts Akron this Weekend

Rockets will play three games at Miami and host the Zips for three games at Scott Park
TOLEDO, Ohio – the Toledo softball team will play two Mid-American Conference series this week, starting with three games Miami in Oxford, Ohio this Tuesday-Wednesday, March 28-29, before coming home to Scott Park for a series with Akron on Saturday-Sunday, April 1-2. This Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game will be streamed on ESPN and can be watched locally on BCSN.

About the Rockets (10-13, 3-2 MAC)
- Toledo split its series at Buffalo on Friday, March 24. The Rockets won the opening game 11-1 (5 inn.) and lost the second game by a 7-2 final.
- Anna Dixon went 3-for-6 against the Bulls, scoring three runs and one RBI. Dixon leads the Rockets with a .379 average (7th in MAC) and 16 runs scored heading into this week's competition.
- Erin Hunt pitched 8.0 innings in Buffalo to put her at 564.2 in her career, and move into the No. 9 spot on Toledo's career IP list. She also recorded her 54th career win on Friday, and is two wins away from passing Desiree Abrego (1993-96) who has 56 career wins and ranks No.4 in program history.
- The Rockets are hitting .353 against Mid-American Conference opponents, which ranks third in the league, while their pitching staff has a 2.63 ERA against MAC foes, also third-best in the league in conference play.
- Miami lost a mid-week matchup at Notre Dame, 11-3 (5 inn.) before dropping its series with Northern Illinois over the weekend.
- The Redhawks lead the MAC with a .308 average this season, while hitting .276 against conference opponents.
- Miami's Allie Cummins has a .342 average (.795 SLG%) through all 26 games this season, leading her team and the MAC with nine home runs and 20 walks. Karli Spaid leads the MAC with 24 RBIs and nine doubles.
- In the circle, Brianna Pratt has a 4.10 ERA with 84 strikeouts through 94.0 innings of work, and has held opponents to a .286 bating average.
- Akron shut out Kent State 3-0 in the first game of its series on Friday afternoon, then dropped the final two games of the series.
- Brooke Sivek leads the Zips' offense with a .362 batting average, has scored 21 runs on 34 hits, and has nine stolen bases. Haley Croyle has struck out 64 batters through 71.1 innings on the mound and sports a 1.47 ERA.
- As a team, Akron is third in the MAC with a .293 average, fourth with a  293 in league play, and leads the conference with a 2.85 ERA overall, and ranks fifth with a 3.22 ERa agaisnt conference foes.Â
- Akron will play Ohio this Tuesday-Wednesday, March 28-29 before traveling over to Toledo this weekend.
