TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team enters Mid-American Conference play as the No. 58 team in the ITA division I rankings with a 9-3 record. The Rockets will host Eastern Michigan for a 1:00 p.m. match at Twos Athletic Club on Saturday, March 18.
Saturday's match will be the first home match for the Rockets since defeating Oakland on Feb. 4. Toledo is 3-1 at Twos Athletic Club this season.

For the second week in a row, the Rockets were ranked among the top-75 women's tennis programs in the ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point. The Rockets moved up 24 spots after defeating No. 67 Florida Gulf Coast 6-1 last week in Fort Myers, Fla.
Mariona Perez takes a three-match winning streak into MAC play, a first for the senior transfer. Perez and
Cassie Alcala both have a 10-2 record so far this season, while
Shalini Tallamraju and
Sloane Teske have a 9-3 record from their respective courts.
Perez and Teske have won their last four matches together form the No. 1 doubles court, and were named MAC Women's Doubles Team of the Week on March 16.
Toledo has won its last three conference openers since the 2018-19 season, including the 2022 conference opener vs. EMU 5-2 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
About Eastern Michigan (3-2)
Eastern Michigan has won its last three matches since it took down Youngstown State on Feb. 18, which was the first win for new head coach Steve Schram. The winning streak is the longest for the Eagles since winning four consecutive matches last season. EMU's most recent win, a 4-3 decision vs. Oakland, was its first road win this season.
