Rockets ranked No. 19 in latest NCAA D-I Great Lakes Region rankings
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track & field team will compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Friday, Feb. 10. Fans can watch live on FloTrack starting at 10:00 a.m.
It's the second trip to Boston for the Rockets in the past three weeks. Toledo also ran in BU's John Terrier Classic on Jan. 28.
Toledo will look to build on a successful showing at last weekend's Notre Dame Meyo Invitational. Four Rockets recorded personal-bests at the meet, including junior Lou Trois who ran the second-fastest indoor mile in school history at the meet (4:39.09). Sophomore Mayson Bates set PRs in the high jump (1.58m), shot put (8.89m), and 800m (2:59.71) en route to completing her first pentathlon with 3004 points. Also recording PRs were senior Alexia Moehling who ran 7.95 in the 60m qualifier and freshman Khamani Jones with a clocked time of 25.99 in the 200m.
Â
Trois' effort earned her this week's MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors, for the second time this season.
Â
The US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranked Toledo at No. 19 (32.72 points) in its latest NCAA D-I Great Lakes Region rankings of the season on Monday. The Rockets were ranked No. 5 (233.46 points) in the first release of the USTFCCCA's Mid-American Conference rankings, while the mile and 3000m squads were placed 18th and 19th, respectively, in the #EventSquad national rankings.
