Lou Trois Posts Second-Fastest Indoor Mile in Toledo History at Notre Dame

Trois runs a 4:39.09 to lead Rocket distance runners at Meyo Invitational
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Junior Lou Trois ran the second-fastest indoor mile time in school history to lead a group of five Toledo runners on the final day of Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday. Trois crossed the finish line with a time of 4:39.09, also her personal-best time.

Trois, who finished sixth, surpassed her previous best time of 4:40.70, set last weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, by nearly two seconds. She trails only Petronella Simuic, who holds the program record at 4:34.59.

Also competing in the mile were sophomore Alex Bauer and freshmen Bailey Ranta and Michaela McGill. Bauer placed fifth in the morning race, recording a time of 4:51.28, while Ranta and McGill posted respective times of 5:09.30 and 5:34.67 in their first collegiate indoor meet.

Senior Alexia Moehling was the lone Rocket representative in the 60m hurdles, after advancing from Friday's prelims. She finished 13th-overall with a time of 8.91.

The Rockets will split the squad next weekend, competing at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational and at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 10.
