Rockets remain in seventh place after three days of competition in Oxford, Ohio

OXFORD, Ohio – Lauren Kilgore and Kennedy Lovell each finished seventh in their respective events on the third day of 2023 Mid-American Conference Championships to lead the Toledo women's swimming & diving team in Oxford, Ohio on Friday. The Rockets turned in another strong performance including 11 personal-best swims and six season-best times at the Nixon Aquatic Center.

The Rockets remain in seventh place with a team score of 150 points.

Kilgore was the lone Rocket to qualify for the finals of the 100 butterfly, the first event of the afternoon. Kilgore swam a 54.20 in the prelims, and finished seventh overall with a PR time of 53.69

Both Kennedy Lovell and Janne Slegers swam season-best times to advance to the finals of the 200 freestyle. Lovell had a prelim time of 1:48.21 while Slegers had a best swim time of 1:50.41. Overall, Lovell touched the wall at 1:48.34, her fastest time this season, to finish seventh. Slegers swam a PR time of 1:50.02 to finish in 13 place.

Alicia Zarzo-Ramirez grabbed the last qualifying spot in the 100 breaststroke with a best-time of 1:04.77. In her first finals as a Rocket, Zarzo-Ramirez finished 16th with a time of 1:05.20.

Madison Giglio will represent Toledo in the finals of the three-meter diving board on Saturday after qualifying with a score of 244.30.

Also in the 100 butterfly, Sydney Conrad swam a season-best time, while Morgan Schuld, Caitlin Heinze and Kaleigh Stivers all record personal-best times but missed the finals.

Three Rockets – Molly Pressler, Jovana Duric, and Ashley LeFever – swam season-best times in the 200 freestyle prelims but did not advance to the evening championships race. LeFever's prelim time of 1:53.70 almost matched her PR of 1:53.70.

Lindsey Creek raced in the 400 IM and recorded a PR time of 4:33.08 but did not advance to the finals.

The 400 medley relay was the last event of the evening, and Toledo 'A' finished with a season-best time of 3:47.08.

Competition will conclude tomorrow morning with prelims at 10:30 a.m. with the prelims followed by the finals at 4:10 p.m. beginning with the 1650 freestyle.
