TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo women's basketball associate head coach Jessie Ivey and assistant coach Danielle Page have both been selected to participate in the WBCA's inaugural Next Generation Institute, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Next Generation Institute is a new high-level education program for experienced assistant coaches who aspire to become head coaches at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels. The Next Generation Institute curriculum focuses on the CEO attributes needed to lead a program and be a problem-solver in today's ever-changing landscape of higher education and the enterprise of intercollegiate athletics.
Toledo was the only Division I school to have two assistant coaches selected to participate in the new program.
"I'm really excited that both Danielle and Jessie were selected to be a part of the WBCA's Next Generation Institute at the Final Four," head coach Tricia Cullop said. "They are both a joy to work with and are very deserving of this honor."
 In her third year with the Rockets, Ivey was named one of the most impactful mid-major assistant coaches by Silver Waves Media in June 2022. Since arriving at Toledo, her work with the program's perimeter players has helped Quinesha Lockett, Sophia Wiard, and Khera Goss earn four combined All-MAC accolades. Ivey was also previously named the WBCA NCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year (2015-16) and was a WBCA Thirty Under 30 recipient as well.
Page is in her fifth season with the Toledo women's basketball program. Working with the team's post players, she has helped current Rockets Jessica Cook and Hannah Noveroske earn postseason distinctions from the MAC, as well as former Rocket Kaayla McIntyre. Last year, she was named an assistant coach for the U20 Serbian National Team and helped coach the team in the U20 European Championships in July 2022. Page has a rich history as a player for the Serbian National Team, winning a bronze medal as a player at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She also helped Serbia win a gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 in Budapest.
