Rockets racing in final indoor meet before MAC Indoor Championship next weekend in Bowling Green

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's track & field team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for the third time this season to compete in Michigan's Silverston Invitational on Friday, Feb. 17. The meet, which will be held at the U-M Indoor Track Building, is set to begin with field events at 3:30 p.m. followed by running events at 4:00 p.m.

At last week's David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the Rockets combined for five personal bests while recording three individual top-10 times in Rocket history. Junior Lou Trois recorded the second-fastest indoor mile by a Rocket for the second-straight week with a time of 4:37.47. Sophomore Joy Chirchir (16:16.77) and junior Madeline Vining (16:27.23) posted 5000m times which rank third and eighth on the indoor top-10 list, respectively. Senior Ava Moran also added PRs in the 200m (25.52) and 400m (59.06).

Toledo moved up one spot to No. 18 (35.13 points) in the latest NCAA D-I Great Lakes Region Rankings, as released by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday. Additionally, the Rockets were ranked No. 4 (286.77 points) in the USTFCCCA's Mid-American Conference rankings, up one position from last week. Toledo's mile and 3000m squads placed 28^th and 34^th, respectively, in the latest release of the #EventSquad national rankings.

Nine members of the Toledo men's cross country team will also be competing in the distance events.
