Toledo Heads to Cleveland for Four-Day Magnus Cup Invitational

The Rockets will race in their final meet of the calendar year this Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 16-19
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming & diving team will head to its first invitational of the season in Cleveland, Ohio this Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 16-18 at Cleveland State's 11th Annual Magnus Cup Invitational. Six Rockets will stay for the final day of the long course racing on Sunday, Nov. 19.
Prelims begin at 9:00 a.m. every day, followed by diving at 1:00 p.m., and conclude with finals at 6:00 p.m. The long course races are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Tickets for Thursday-Saturday's competition can be purchased here.
Last Time in the Pool
Toledo is coming off an intense 158.5-141.5 victory in the annual Battle of I-75 with Bowling Green on Nov. 4. The Rockets won 11 events and the decision came down to the final two events of the meet, the 200 IM and 200 freestyle relay. Sophomore Janne Slegers led UT with three individual victories in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle events and the leg of the 200 freestyle relay team.
About the Invitational
Last season, Toledo finished fourth overall with 23 top-10 individual finishes in Cleveland's three-day annual meet. Toledo will share the pool with 2023 MAC Champions Akron, Bowling Green, Florida Gulf Coast, Northern Colorado, Tulane, Cleveland State, Canisius, Gannon, 2023 PSAC Champion runner-up team Indiana University of Pennsylvania, MAAC Championship runner-up team Niagara, and Xavier.
