Rockets collect 25 top-10 finishes, two meet records, and one school record in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo women's swimming & diving team finished fifth in a pool of 12 teams at Cleveland State's 11^th annual Magnus Cup Invitational. Freshman Leah Gentry-Tuney capped an outstanding weekend with two individual and one relay team top-10 finishes on Saturday evening.

Toledo finished fifth overall with 813 team points. The Rockets had 54 swimmers and four divers compete in the finals of their respective events, placed 25 in the top 10, and came away with two meet records and one UT school record.

Toledo's highest finish of the day was a runner-up finish in the 400 freestyle relay team of senior Kennedy Lovell, senior Lauren Kilgore, sophomore Janne Slegers and Gentry-Tuney at 3:21.96.

Gentry-Tuney led the way in 50 butterfly with a third-place finish and later added a sixth-place finish in her first attempt in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Leah Evans took seventh in the 50 butterfly, setting a PR time of 24.93 in the prelims, while senior Sydney Conrad touched the wall ninth overall. In the 100 freestyle, Kilgore led all Rockets with a fifth-place finish, while Slegers came in ninth place.

A group of swimmers will compete in tomorrow's long course races beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Busbey Natatorium.
