Rockets Heading to Minnesota for Gopher Invitational This Weekend

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will look to continue the momentum from last week's season-opening tournament title when it travels to Independence, Minn. this weekend for Minnesota's Gopher Invitational.

The tournament will be held at the par-71, 7,380-yard Windsong Farm Golf Club with tee times starting at 7:15 a.m. CT each day. Thirty-six holes will be played on Sunday with the final 18 holes on Monday. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.

The Field
The Rockets will be competing against a 15-team field that includes five schools – No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 29 Kansas, No. 44 Georgia Southern, No. 46 Michigan State and No. 53 Baylor – which were ranked in the Top 60 of last year's final Golfstat rankings. Also participating are Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Iowa State, Kent State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Yale and the host Gophers.

This Week's Lineup
The Rockets' lineup will include senior NJ Botha at No. 1, junior Barend Botha at No. 2, junior Jamie Tofte Nielsen at No. 3, senior Palmer Yenrick at No. 4 and freshman Bence Kotel at No. 5. Senior Michael Terblanche is competing as an individual.

Last Time Out
Toledo brought home a share of the Island Resort Intercollegiate last Monday. The Rockets tied for first with Illinois State at eight-under par 856. NJ Botha was named Mid-American Conference Men's Co-Golfer of the Week after tying for second place with a career-low nine-under par 207 (68-69-70) for the best finish of his collegiate career.

Barend Botha finished alone in sixth place at five-under par 211 and finished under par in all three rounds. Bence Kotel posted the Rockets' third-best finish in 14^th place with a one-under par 215 but was competing as an individual.

Toledo will have two weeks off before returning to the links for the Inverness Intercollegiate on Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 26-27.
