Toledo Takes on Oakland Thursday Afternoon

TOLEDO, Ohio – Riding on the momentum of its first win of the season last Sunday, the Toledo Rockets will host undefeated Oakland on Thursday at noon at Paul Hotmer Field. Toledo (1-1-2) picked up a 3-0 shutout over Indiana State on Aug. 28 following a pair of ties vs. Dayton and Purdue Fort Wayne and a loss at Illinois.

About Toledo (1-1-2)
Toledo's contest vs. Purdue Fort Wayne in its home-opener on Aug. 25 ended in a 1-1 tie. The Rockets' first win came three days later, a 3-0 shutout at Indiana State on Aug. 28. Olivia Dault tallied the lone goal for the Rockets, her first of the season, off a penalty kick vs. the Mastodons. Emma Boutorwick picked up her first shutout and Morgan Otteson was responsible for two of the Rockets' three goals vs. the Sycamores.
Among Mid-American Conference teams, Toledo leads with 56 shots so far this season while Otteson leads in shots (16) and shots-on-goal (nine). Otteson also received MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors following last weekend's performance.
About Oakland (2-0-2)
Oakland tied both of its contests last week, 1-1 vs. Akron and 0-0 vs. Northwestern. The Golden Grizzlies out-shot the Zips 21-9 with Alexa Sabbah scoring the equalizer at the 84th-minute. Oakland goalkeeper Noemi Stadelmann recorded six saves to pick up the shutout vs. Northwestern on Sunday afternoon, and has only allowed one goal this season.
Historically, Toledo has a five-match win streak vs. Oakland, most recently a 1-0 win on Sept. 1, 2021, in Rochester, Mich.
