MAC Coaches Pick Toledo to Finish Second in West Division

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Toledo football team has been picked to finish in second place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference by the members of the league's head coaches, the MAC Office announced today. Defending MAC champion Northern Illinois was picked to win the West Division. Kent State was chosen as the East Division champion.
The Rockets received 51 points in the poll, 10 points behind NIU (61 points, six first-place votes). The Huskies were also picked to win the MAC Championship Game (4 votes), followed by Kent State (3), Miami (2), Western Michigan (2) and Ball State (1).
The Rockets' 2022 season kicks off with a home game vs. LIU this Thursday at the Glass Bowl. Toledo was 7-6 in 2021 and earned its fifth bowl berth under Head Coach Jason Candle. The Rockets return seven All-MAC players for 2022 in addition to starting sophomore quarterback Dequan Finn.
