TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo men's basketball associate head coach Jeff Massey has been named to Silver Waves Media's Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coaches list, the organization announced recently.
 
Massey will be entering his ninth season in the 2022-23 campaign. Last year, he helped the Rockets post 26-8 win-loss mark and become the first team in program history to win back-to-back outright MAC championships.

Toledo also set a school record for conference wins (17) last year and posted its fourth 20-win season in the last five years. During this stretch, the Rockets have amassed 112 victories and posted a 66-27 (.710) league record.

An Elkhart, Ind. native, Massey has helped the Rockets win 173 games during his tenure. During this time, 16 different Rockets have earned All-MAC honors on at least one occasion highlighted by MAC Player of Years Tre'Shaun Fletcher (2018) and Marreon Jackson (2021).

The Silver Waves Media organization recognizes that head coaches are only as strong as the people they surround themselves with, and it is no coincidence that the most successful programs also have some of the greatest assistant coaches in the game. The coaches honored on the list are considered the to be some of the most impactful in the country, and they are all poised to take a head coaching position in the future should they choose, whether their first or a return to a lead role.
