Toledo Finishes 10th at Oliver Nikoloff Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Freshman Margrett Watt and sophomore Promise Cross each registered fourth-place finishes to lead Toledo to a 10th-place finish at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Saturday.
Watt finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:11.91, just ahead of sophomore Sarah-Rose Sullivan who placed eighth with a time of 2:14.62. Â Cross was fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.66m.
Also earning points for the Rockets were Emma Heslop in the 5000m (5th/17:13.05), junior Paige Embaugh in the 1500m (7th/4:46.5), freshman Mayson Bates in the 100m hurdles (7th/14.71) amd freshman Amara Okpalaoka in the triple jump (7th11.29m).
In the 1600m relay, Toledo's team of Rayna Horner, Cross, Shianne Johnson, and Okpalaoka finished fourth with a time of 4:01.45 to earn five points.Â

The Toledo men's cross country team also competed in the 800m, 1500m and 5000m events at the invitational. Junior Cooper Losey paced the Rockets in the 800 (1:57.80) and 1500 (3:58.86), while sophomore Jonathon Hrivnak (14:52.48) placed eighth in the 5000m.

The Rockets will head to Oxford, Miss. next to compete in the Ole Miss Joe Walker Invitational on April 8-9.
