Rockets Hosting MAC Championships at Stone Oak This Weekend

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's golf team will host the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships this weekend at the Stone Oak Country Club in Holland, Ohio. The 54-hole tournament includes 10 schools and will be held Friday-Sunday, April 22-24, at the par-72, 6,158-yard Stone Oak Country Club. Eighteen holes will be played each day beginning at 9:00 a.m.

THE FIELD
• Ten schools are participating in the MAC Championships.
• Kent State is the only school to win the MAC Championship in its 22-year history and is the favorite to win the tournament again this year. The Golden Flashes are ranked No. 43 in Golfstat's national rankings.

ROCKETS AT THE MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
• Amelia Lee leads the Rockets with a 77.3 stroke average with Angel Hii (78.1) and Yedam Lee (78.4) ranking second and third, respectively
• The Rockets have finished as the runner-up in five of the last eight MAC Championships and placed in the top four in seven of those years.
• Toledo's showings in the event have included five second-place (2006, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019), seven third-place (1999, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015), five fourth-place (2000, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2021), three fifth-place (2005, 2009, 2017) and one sixth-place (2011) finish.

LAST TIME OUT
• Toledo placed eighth at the Indiana Invitational on April 9-10 against a field that included five Big Ten programs.
• Junior Amelia Lee led the Rockets by tying for 24th place with a 54-hole score of 231 (75-81-75).

ON THE HORIZON
• The winning team at the 2022 MAC Championships will qualify for NCAA Regionals action on May 9-11.
