TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo junior Sloane Teske was named the Mid-American Conference Women's Tennis Singles Player of The Week honoree on Wednesday.

Teske went 2-0 in singles competition against Miami (April 7) and Bowling Green (April 9) last weekend. Teske defeated 2021 MAC Player of the Year Laura Rico (6-3, 6-3) on the No. 2 court to tie the match 1-1 after the Rockets lost the doubles point to Miami.

Teske then tied the match 1-1 after the Rockets dropped the doubles team point to the Falcons by defeating BG's Ionna Tsadri (6-2, 6-2), who she lost to twice last season.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. native has won her last four singles matches and has an overall 18-2 record, 6-1 against conference opponents.

This is the second time this season that Teske has been named MAC Singles Player of the Week. She has also won MAC Doubles Team of the week earlier this season.

Teske and the Rockets will be back on the court for a rematch with Miami on Friday, April 15 in Oxford, Ohio.
