TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team will play a non-conference contest in East Lansing, Mich. vs. Michigan State on Wednesday and end the week with a three-game series at I-75 rival Bowling Green on Friday-Saturday, April 1-2.

- The Rockets lost the first game of their home-opening weekend vs. Buffalo on Friday afternoon, 13-3. The final two games were canceled due to weather and no rescheduled date has been set.
- Dayna Denner led Toledo offensively by driving in two runs with a double and also scoring one run.
About Michigan State
Michigan State (16-13, 0-3 Big Ten) lost all three games of its conference-opening series at No. 11 Northwestern last weekend. Sophomore Alexis Barroso leads the Spartans with a .392 average, including three doubles, one triple and one home run. Sophomore Ashley Miller is going into this week with a .70 ERA through 100.1 innings including 147 strikeouts. Michigan State will play a doubleheader with Detroit Mercy on Tuesday before welcoming Toledo on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m.
About Bowling Green
Bowling Green (14-8, 2-3 MAC) split its doubleheader with Ohio on Friday. The Falcons lost the series opener, 2-1, and bounced back to win the second game by a 5-3 margin. Sophomore Reagan Williamson's two-run homer broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning to win the game for the Falcons. Williamson leads the offense with a .387 average, including a team-high five home runs and 24 hits in 22 games. Leading the Falcons in the circle is sophomore Payton Gottshall, who has a 9-5 record and 1.55 ERA. She also has an impressive 139 strikeouts in 85.2 innings. Bowling Green will travel to Big 10 foe Michigan on Tuesday night before welcoming Toledo to Meserve Softball Field on Friday afternoon.

Toledo (8-16, 1-3 MAC) will be back at Scott Park for a three-game mid-week series vs. Miami on Tuesday-Wednesday, April 5-6.
