OXFORD, Ohio – Sophomore
Sarah-Rose Sullivan and freshman
Amara Okpalaoka each won events for Toledo's women's track & field team at Miami University's Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio on Friday. It was the first meet of the outdoor season for the Rockets.
Sullivan captured the 800m with a time of 2:16.38. Okpalaoka won the long jump with a leap of 5.72 meters, well beyond the best jump of second-place finisher Elle Miller of Miami (5.57m).
Other Toledo top-five finishes came from sophomores
Promise Cross (2nd/high jump) and
Paige Embaugh (3rd/800m).
Members of Toledo's men's cross-country team also competed in the Blizzard Buster. Top participants for the Rockets were juniors Cooper Losey who finished eighth (3:59.25) in the 1500M, and Jonathon Hrivnak who took seventh (8:43.14) in the 3000M.
The Rockets head to Raleigh, NC next weekend to participate in the NC State Raleigh Relays. The event will take place on Thursday-Saturday, March 24-26.
