TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo graduate student Morgan Otteson has been named to the College Sports Communicators' 2022 Women's Soccer Academic All-America Second Team. Otteson is the program's second Academic All-America honoree ever and first since Natalia Gaitàn earned third-team honors in 2012.

Otteson graduated in May 2022 with a bachelor's degree in business management, is currently pursuing her MBA. She holds a 4.00 GPA in graduate school.

Nineteen of the 34 members on the Academic All-America Division I women's soccer teams hold a perfect 4.00 GPA, including Otteson, in their undergraduate or graduate studies.

The Grand Rapids, Mich. native received Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Aug. 30, a Second-Team All-MAC selection, and was named on Academic All-District this season. She started all 18 games for the Rockets and led the team with 11 goals (third in the MAC), 51 shots (third in the MAC), 29 shots on goal (first on the MAC) and 25 points (first in the MAC). Otteson had a game-high 11 shots at Central Michigan (Oct. 9) which is the second-most by a Rocket in a single match. She scored a game-high two goals on two occasions at Illinois (Aug. 28) and against Ball State (Oct. 6).
