Rockets Wrap Up Opening Day of MAC Indoors

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Toledo men's tennis team faced tough conference doubles teams on the opening day at the Mid-American Conference Indoors tournament on Friday afternoon in Kalamazoo, Mich. The Rockets were led by partners senior Marko Galic and junior Pawit Sornlaksup who picked up two wins in the Flight 1 Doubles bracket.
"We can't wait until the singles flights tomorrow," head coach Al Wermer said. "I know this weekend will be very productive."
In the Flight 1 Doubles bracket, senior Marko Galic and junior Pawit Sornlaksup picked up two of Toledo's wins and finished third overall. Galic and Sornlaksup first defeated tandems Danilo Kovacevic and Parrish Simmons (BSU), and finally Roger Tsai and Oliver Valentinsson (NIU).
Junior Adam Kovac and senior Krzysztof Wetoszka paired up and collected another Toledo win in the Flight 1 Doubles bracket, over Michael Pawlowicz with Kyle Weekes (BING).
Toledo's final doubles win came from senior Luis Kleinschnitz and freshman Matias Olivero in Flight 3, over Michael Pawlowicz and Kyle Weekes (BING).
The singles flights will begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
