TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's soccer team scored two second-half goals but could not overcome its deficit in a 6-2 defeat to Ball State on Thursday.

Ball State opened the scoring in the first half with two goals from Avery Franchel and carried the lead into halftime. The Cardinals eventually took a three-goal lead until Morgan Otteson cut the deficit to 3-1 just 10 seconds after the BSU goal. The Cardinals pushed ahead with another goal, but Otteson answered again to keep the Rockets within striking distance. Ball State closed out the scoring with two goals in the final 16 minutes.
