Rockets Lose on Late Goal to Broncos, 3-2

TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo freshman Kaema Amachree tied the game at 2-2 halfway through the second half with her first collegiate goal but a goal by Western Michigan with less than four minutes to play gave the Broncos a 3-2 victory at Paul Hotmer Field on Thursday.

The loss ends Toledo's season while the win put Western Michigan into the sixth and final playoff spot in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

Sophomore Mia Leonetti set up senior Morgan Otteson for the first goal of the game against Otteson's former team. The Rockets held that lead for the rest of the first half, until Western Michigan tied the match two minutes into the second half and then took the lead five minutes later. Freshman Kaema Amachree tied the contest at 2-2 off a beautiful setup from senior Madison Medalle in front of the net. The Broncos scored the game-winner at the 86th-minute on a goal by Hedi Thomasma.

The Rockets finished the season with an overall record of 2-10-6 and a 1-6-4 mark in MAC play.
