Toledo Finishes Fourth at Chippewa Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. - Senior Amelia Lee and junior Cheryl Hong each tied for 10th place to lead the Toledo women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Chippewa Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was played in blustery, rainy and chilly conditions at the par-72, 5,897-yard Birmingham Country Club.
Lee and Hong finished seven strokes out of first place with a 36-hole total of 160. Sophomore Yedam Lee was one stroke behind the duo and tied for 14th place at 161. Junior Macy Hanus tied for 25th place at 165.
Junior Angel Hii and senior Kathryn Roth registered the Rockets' best round of the day with a 78. Hii finished in 27th place, while Roth tied for a career-best 31st place.
Oakland captured the tournament title with a team score of 634, five strokes in front of the host Chippewas. The Golden Grizzlies' Bridget Boczar and Bowling Green's Emily Nystrom shared medalist honors at nine-over par 153.
Toledo will wrap up its fall season at the Ozark National Invitational in Branson, Mo. on Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
