Toledo Shoots Eight-Under to Move Up Three Spots at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Three Rockets shot under par in Monday's second round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate to help the Toledo men's golf team move up three spots in the team standings. Toledo posted an eight-under par 280 score today on the par-72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club course and is at even-par through 36 holes.

Junior Jamie Tofte Nielsen fired a four-under par 68 to lead UT in today's action with senior Palmer Yenrick one stroke behind with a three-under par 69. Nielsen birdied his first two holes today and eagled his fifth hole to get to four-under. He then birdied his final two holes to close out his round with a flourish. Yenrick also finished strong by birdieing three of his final six holes.

Junior Barend Botha followed up his opening-round 68 with a two-under 70 and is tied for sixth place in the individual standings at six-under par 138. Nielsen is tied for 26^th place at one-under 143, while Yenrick is tied for 34^th place with an even-par 144.

Senior Michael Terblanche nearly broke par as well, shooting a one-over 73 to put him in a 78^th-place tie at 154. Senior NJ Botha is tied for 76^th place at 153.

Freshman Mason Deal is competing as an individual and tied for 83^rd place at 158 in his first tournament as a Rocket.

Host East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern and Missouri are tied for first in the team standings at 17-under par. FGCU's Pierre Viallaneix leads all individuals at 10-under par, two shots in front of Missouri's Jack Lundin.

The third and final round of the tournament will be held tomorrow.
