Jamie Tofte Nielsen shot a career-low even-par 72 on Monday to lead the Toledo men's golf team on the first day of Washington's Husky Invitational. Nielsen is tied for 34
th place in the individual standings with a team-best one-over 145, while the Rockets sit in 15
th place in the team standings at 10-over par 586.
Sophomore
Barend Botha fired Toledo's best round of the day with a three-under 69 in the opening 18 holes and is tied for 44
th place at three-over par 147. Senior
Lukas Clark is sandwiched between Nielsen and Botha and tied for 39
th place at 146 with a pair over one-over 73's.
Senior
David Amm is tied for 46
th place at four-over 148 (74-74), while senior
Max Siegfried is in 79
th place at 155 (74-81).
Host Washington sits atop the team standings with an impressive 23-under par 553 at the par-72, 7,135-yard Gold Mountain Golf Club.
The tournament's final round will begin tomorrow with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start.
