Toledo Ties Cincinnati 1-1 for Second Consecutive Draw

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Toledo scored first but had to settle for a 1-1 tie against the Cincinnati Bearcats in Cincinnati on Sunday. The tie was the second in as many games for the Rockets, making them 0-0-2 to start the season.
Senior Ashton Cassel tallied Toledo's first goal of the season, giving the Rockets a 1-0 lead early in the second half. But the Bearcats answered with a goal of their own to tie the score at 1-1 in the 64th minute. Both teams had opportunities to score in the closing minutes of regulation and in overtime, but the defenses prevailed and the contest remained a draw.
Sophomore goaklkeeper Emma Boutorwick logged four saves for the Rockets.
"Our players did a good job dealing with Cincinnati's strong attack," said Head Coach T.J. Buchholz. "Cincinnati has a certain way they like to play and I thought our team navigated their style of play effectively today. Our team had to endure another overtime test on the road and I am proud of how hard they fought for 110 minutes."

- This was the first meeting between Toledo and Cincinnati since 2003. It was the first tie between the two teams.
- This is the first time in program history that the Rockets have started a season with two consecutive ties.
- Olivia Dault led Toledo with two shots with two, and now has five on the season to lead the team.
