TOLEDO, Ohio – The men's basketball programs at the University of Toledo and University of Richmond have agreed to a home-and-home series beginning in the 2021-22 season.

"Richmond is one of the elite programs in the Atlantic 10 and we're excited to be playing against them," Head Coach
Tod Kowalczyk said. "(Richmond Head Coach) Chris Mooney and I both agree that this is a great series when considering college basketball's NET rankings and trying to help at-large consideration for both programs."

The Rockets will travel to Richmond on Dec. 11, 2021 before hosting the Spiders in Savage Arena on Nov. 30, 2022.

The only previous matchup between Toledo and Richmond occurred in the 2021 National Invitation Tournament. The Spiders posted a 76-66 victory over the Rockets before falling to Mississippi State, 68-67, in the quarterfinals.

Toledo posted a 21-9 record in its 2020-21 campaign and captured the Mid-American Conference title with a 15-4 win-loss mark in league play. The Rockets return three double-digit scorers to the fold next season, including MAC Freshman of the Year
Ryan Rollins (13.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg), senior
Setric Millner Jr. (12.9 ppg, 6.8 rpg) and senior
JT Shumate (11.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg).
