RICHMOND, Ky. – Senior
Stephanie Sherman led the University of Toledo women's track and field team on Day Two of the Rick Erdmann Twilight on Saturday, placing second in the 5000m Invitational. Sherman ran across the finish line with a personal-best time of 16:15.81 and currently ranks first in the Mid-American Conference with three weeks to go before the MAC Championships (May 7-8).
Sherman's performance highlighted an evening in which six Rockets posted personal-best performances. Toledo had 20 personal bests over the course of the two-day event.

Semra Karaslan finished 10th in the 5000m Invitational with a personal-best time of 16:45.03. Following closely behind was sophomore
Madeline Vining in 11
th with a personal-best time of 16:47.16. Karaslan and Vining currently rank second and third in the MAC.

Meyah Haywood had their first attempt competing in the javelin throw, placing sixth (25.36m) and seventh (21.28m), respectively.

In the men's 5000m invitational race, sophomore
Jake Rethman finished 14th, checking in with a personal-best time of 14:24.62.

The Rockets return to the track on Thursday, April 22 with distance runners traveling to the Drake Relays (April 22-24) in Des Moines, Iowa. Sprinters and jumpers will be traveling to the Knights Invite in Orlando, Florida on April 23-24.
