Rockets Wrap Up Boilermaker Invitational with Three-Over 291

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Toledo men's golf team tied for 12th place at Purdue's Boilermaker Invitational after shooting its best round of the weekend on Sunday with a three-over par 291 at the par-72, 7,465-yard Kampen Golf Course.
Three Rockets tied for 41st place in the individual standings at seven-over par 223. Junior Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (77-75-71) fired a one-under par 71 for UT's best round of the day. Freshman Barend Botha (75-75-73) carded a one-over par 73, while junior David Amm (73-73-77) shot a five-over 77.
The remainder of Toledo's lineup consisted of sophomore NJ Botha (75-77-75=227) tying for 59th place and senior Nate Thomson (82-78-72=232) tying for 74th place.
Kent State won the team title with a 12-under par 852, while Minnesota's Angus Flanagan finished first in the individual standings at nine-under par 207.
Freshman Jamie Tofte Nielsen also competed this weekend at the Boilermaker Individual tournament at the par-72, 7,109-yard Ackerman-Allen Course. He finished 29th at eight-over par 224 (75-76-73).
Toledo returns to action next weekend with a trip to Iowa City, Iowa for the Hawkeye Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, April 17-18.
