TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo softball team plays its second-straight Mid-American Conference weekend on the road when it travels to Western New York. The Rockets will face Buffalo in a four-game series at Nan Harvey Field.
Toledo's games vs. the Bulls will include the series opener on Friday at 3:00 p.m., a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and a single contest on Sunday at noon.

The Rockets (11-9, 1-3 MAC) were extremely competitive in their opening weekend at MAC preseason favorite Kent State, although they could only come away with a 15-10 (12 inn.) triumph over the Golden Flashes in the first game of a doubleheader last Sunday. In Saturday's twinbill, UT held a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning of the opener and was tied at 7-7 heading into the seventh frame of the nightcap.

REVIEWING THE ROCKETS
- Senior third baseman Dayna Denner tops the team in hits (23), runs (12), doubles (6), home runs (7), RBI (15) and slugging percentage (.867). She also ranks second with a .383 batting average.
- In last weekend's MAC-opening weekend at Kent State, Denner led the Rockets in with a .538 batting average. three homers, five RBIs and an impressive 1.385 slugging percentage.
- Sophomore first baseman Riley Mohr is hitting a team-best .517 (15-of-19) and ranks second on the team with an .828 slugging mark and tied for third with eight RBIs.
- Junior right fielder Anna Dixon ranks third on the team with a .365 batting average and is tied for second with 10 runs scored.
- Freshman center fielder Lexi Eckman (.320) and sophomore left fielder Leah Munson (.313) are also hitting over .300. Eckman has scored six runs in nine games, while Munson ranks third on the team with a .438 slugging mark.
- Senior Erin Hunt is the Rockets' primary starter in the circle. She has appeared in 14 contests and posted a 3.44 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 77.1 innings pitched. She holds a 7-6 record with one save.
- Sophomore McKenna Schmidt leads the team with a 3.33 ERA. She is 3-0 in six appearances covering 21.0 IP.
SCOUTING THE BULLS
Buffalo (4-13, 2-2 MAC) split its opening MAC weekend at Akron. The Bulls won the series opener 4-0 before splitting the Saturday doubleheader with a 7-2 win in game two and dropping Sunday's series finale. Freshman third baseman Rachel Steffan leads Buffalo with a .268 batting average and seven runs with junior outfielder Alexis Matheney hitting .261 with a team-best nine RBIs. Graduate student Ally Marcano is the Bulls' top pitcher with a 3-5 record and a 4.48 ERA. She has struck out 34 batters and allowed 20 walks in 40.2 innings.
ON THE HORIZON
The Rockets will return to Scott Park next weekend for their home opener vs. Northern Illinois on April 2-4.
