TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo head volleyball coach Jason Oliver announced the addition of two signees on Thursday.

Izzy Granger (Liberty-Benton High School; Findlay, Ohio) and Macy Medors (Upper Arlington High School; Columbus, Ohio) will join the Rockets' volleyball program for the 2022 season.

"We started recruiting both Macy and Izzy very early and identified them as players we wanted in our program back when they were freshmen in high school," Oliver said. "It has been great getting to know them and really knowing that they are going to represent the Rockets perfectly."

Granger and Medors both wrapped up successful prep careers this past fall and will be joining a Toledo program that recently secured its first MAC Tournament berth since 2016.

"As a coaching staff we want to compete every day," Oliver said. "Recruiting is an extension of that and it is a great way to gauge your program's leadership and culture. When you can commit two players with the character and ability that Macy and Izzy possess, it is an amazing confirmation that we are on the right track as a program."

Izzy Granger | Outside Hitter | Findlay, Ohio | Liberty Benton High School

The No. 9-ranked prospect in the state of Ohio, Granger comes to Toledo after an outstanding prep career at Liberty Benton High School. In her four seasons as a varsity volleyball player, Granger tallied 1,302 kills, averaging 3.7/set, and recorded 1,162 digs, averaging 3.3/set. She helped lead her school to an undefeated record and a state title this past fall, registering 15 kills in the championship match. As a sophomore in 2019, she averaged 3.6 kills/set and led Liberty Benton to a 28-2 record and an OHSAA Division III State Championship, leading the way with 20 kills and 17 digs in the title match. Granger is a four-time all-conference and all-district honoree, and is also a state champion in track and field, winning the title in discus as a junior with a toss of 146 feet, 1 inch.

Head Coach Jason Oliver on Izzy Granger: "She comes from a family and an area where greatness is expected and achieved on high order. Izzy is a special player and will bring a great depth to our outside hitting position.  She can do it all and will play with supreme confidence.  She is a great student athlete and her becoming a rocket is a perfect fit for her and for us."

Macy Medors | Defensive Specialist/Libero | Columbus, Ohio | Upper Arlington High School

A four-year varsity letterwinner at Upper Arlington High School, Medors collected 805 digs and averaged 3.7 digs/set during her career and averaged 0.4 service aces/set. She is a two-time team captain and a two-time all-conference honoree, earning All-Ohio Capital Conference distinctions in 2018 and 2020. She averaged a career-best 4.0 digs/set as a senior this past season, tallying 310 digs in 24 matches. As a freshman in 2018, she helped lead Upper Arlington to a 17-7 record and a run in the OHSAA State Playoffs.

Head Coach Jason Oliver on Macy Medors: "She brings a skill set that will add to our ability to compete for a championship right away. I am excited to see her poise and technical ability come out every day in practice and in the matches.  Macy plays with a great love for volleyball and truly wants to be the best libero she can be.  We are so happy to bring these two in the fold and see just where our culture and leadership can go."
