Mauntler Inks Highest Ranked Recruit in Tennis Program History

TOLEDO, Ohio – University of Toledo women's tennis head coach Tracy Mauntler announced the signing of Sanjana Tallamraju to national letter of intent on Wednesday. Tallamraju will be joining as freshman for the 2022-23 season.

Sanjana Tallamraju is the highest-ranked player to sign with Toledo in the program's history. She is a four-star recruit, ranked No.3 in the state of Indiana, and No.73 senior in the country.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to have Sanjana join our Rocket family," Mauntler said. "She's an extremely talented lefty who has so many tools and will continue to improve in our environment here at Toledo. The is a pretty unique situation as one of the reasons that Sanjana has chosen Toledo is because her sister, Shalini, has had such a great experience here. Sanjana has seen up close what a special bond these players have and how the team culture has brought the best out of everyone on the team. Sanjana will be an impact player immediately and it will be exciting to see how she will contribute to the teams' success."

Once I stepped foot on campus, I knew that this is where I wanted to spend my college years. The facilities were amazing and the camaraderie among the teammates was even better.
