ATHENS, Ohio – Toledo registered more scoring opportunities and shots on goal at Ohio on Sunday afternoon but came up on the short end of a 1-0 decision to the Bobcats (7-3-1, 3-0-1 MAC) at Chessa Field.

The Bobcats' Sarina Dirrig netted the game's lone goal at the 69:30 mark when she tapped in the ball following an Ohio corner kick.

The Rockets (7-3-2, 2-2-0 MAC) owned an 11-8 shot advantage as well as a 6-2 cushion in shots on goal. Sophomore Ellie Pool topped Toledo with three shots on goal.

"We didn't capitalize enough on our offensive chances to score today," Head Coach T.J. Buchholz said. "It was unfortunate to not get a goal with the opportunities that were there for us. Credit to Ohio for making a play on their corner kick to get the game-winner. We need to regroup this week and find a way to be much better in front of the goal. Miami and Ball State are coming up and they are strong MAC teams this year."

Toledo returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 7 when it travels to Oxford, Ohio to face Miami. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
