TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo men's golf team will spend a portion of its spring break in Alabama next week competing in Auburn's Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner on Sunday-Tuesday, March 8-10. The 54-hole event will take place at the par-72, 7,289-yard Grand National on the Lake course in Opelika, Ala. Grand National hosted a PGA Tour event from 2015-17.
"We have shown some individual and collective promise in our first two spring tournaments and a big thanks goes out to coaches Nick Clinard and Corey Maggard as well as Jason Dufner for hosting us in this challenging event," Head Coach
Jeff Roope said. "Generally, when you get to this level the difference between the top and bottom of the field is the ability to produce consistent scores and play disciplined golf. The guys are consistently working on the daily details needed to improve their games to compete with some of top golfers in the nation."
Joining Toledo in the 19-team field will be four teams ranked in Golfstat's Top 50 - No. 15 Auburn, No. 41 James Madison, No. 43 Charlotte, No. 45 Arkansas State.
 The Rockets are coming off a 10
th-place showing at the Border Olympics on Feb. 24-25. Senior
Rasmus Broholt Lind led the way with a season-best 15
th-place finish. Lind finished the tournament with a two-over par 218, including a two-under par 70 in his opening round.
Senior
Nate Thomson is leading the Rockets with a 74.5 stroke average and is followed closely by senior
Grant Godfrey (74.7), Lind (74.8) and sophomore
David Amm (75.0).
THE FIELD
• Nineteen schools are participating in the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner.
