TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team lost an early Saturday morning match against UIC, 5-2, at Twos Athletic Club.

"We competed very well on some courts, but just not good enough today against a tough UIC team," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "We will continue to focus on the process."

The Rockets dropped the doubles point despite senior Dee Dee Leenabanchong/sophomore Eileen Carney's 6-3 win on the No. 1 court.

On the No. 1 singles court, Leenabanchong defeated Karyna Bihel 6-1, 6-3. Junior Patricia Panta posted the Rockets' second point from the No. 4 court with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Izzy Marshall.

Up Next
The Rockets lift off for their spring training trip before kicking off conference play. The Midnight Blue and Gold is slated to play Mercer, Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, and College of Charleston on Mar. 9, 11, 12, and 14 respectively.
