TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo dropped a 77-62 decision against Eastern Michigan in Wednesday's Mid-American Conference West Division matchup played before 3,362 fans in Savage Arena. With the loss, the Rockets fall to 9-9 overall, 4-3 in the league.

The Midnight Blue & Gold also received eight points each from seniors

As a team, the Rockets shot 38.0 percent (19-of-50) from the field, including 31.3 percent (5-of-16) from three-point range, and 73.1 percent (19-of-26) from the charity stripe.
Areanna Combs led the Eagles (10-9, 5-3 MAC) with a game-high 27 points, while Jenna Annecchiarico and Corrione Cardwell had 13 and 12 to snap Toledo's five-game home winning streak.
EMU converted a MAC-season best 52.9 percent (27-of-51) from the floor, scoring 42 points in the paint.Â
The visitors also took full advantage of 21 Toledo miscues and posted a 20-12 edge in points off turnovers to stop a three-game skid against the Rockets.Â

FIRST QUARTER
• Toledo held a 15-12 lead after the opening 10 minutes thanks to some hot shooting. The Rockets knocked down an impressive 6-of-11 shots from the field in the opening stanza, highlighted by a perfect 3-of-3 effort from Whitaker.
• Whitaker led the Rockets with six points on those three field goals, followed closely by Davis with five.Â
SECOND QUARTER
• The Eagles ripped off 14 of the first 16 points in the second period to assume a 26-17 lead, forcing Toledo to burn its first timeout. Combs triggered the burst with seven points to prompt the stoppage in play at the 5:43 mark.Â
• Toledo responded favorably following the timeout, utilizing an 11-4 rally to close the margin to 30-28 with 2:38 left in first half. The home team did a majority of their damage at the charity stripe, converting 7-of-8 at the line to make it a one-possession game.Â
• The teams then traded baskets for the remainder of the half, as EMU took a 35-32 advantage into intermission.
• Davis paced the Rockets with nine points in the opening 20 minutes, while Combs led the visitors with a game-high 16.Â
• The Eagles scored 20 of their 35 points in the paint in the first half, helping them build a three-point cushion at the break.
THIRD QUARTER
• With the score knotted at 40-40, EMU ended the quarter on a 10-4 run to create a six-point advantage, 50-44. Annecchiarico fueled the late rally with a traditional three-point play and a 15-foot-jumper to give the visitors a lead they would not surrender.Â
FOURTH QUARTER
• The Eagles extended their margin to eight points on two occasions early in the period, but Toledo responded with five-straight points to make the score 54-51 with 6:11 left in regulation. Davis buried her second triple and Black drained a pair of free throws to trim the deficit to three.
• Unfortunately for the Rockets, EMU scored eight of the next nine points to open up a 62-52 advantage. Three different Eagles tallied points during this pivotal stretch, including a banked-in triple by Combs at the 3:08 mark. Â
• EMU then finished off the Rockets at the stripe, scoring its final 13 points at the line.Â
UP NEXT
• Toledo will entertain MAC East Division foe Kent State (11-7, 4-3 MAC) on Saturday, Feb. 1. The MAC cross-division showdown is slated for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and will be streamed on ESPN3.
