GENEVA, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team rounded out a weekend of competition in Geneva, Ohio at the SPIRE Midwest Open on Saturday with another school record broken. Senior Yana Khabina clocked a Toledo all-time best time of 1:35.14 in the 600 meters, placing first. Khabina's time is two seconds faster than the previous record of 1:37.21, previously set by Rayna Horner last year at the GVSU Open. Horner took second with a time of 1:39.65 today.

Freshman Ava Moran earned a spot in the 60-meter dash finals after posting a time of 8.06 to take 10th in the prelim. Moran also placed 10th in the 60m finals, with a time of 8.13. Junior Riley Kwiatkowski led the Rockets in the mile placing fifth with a time of 5:12.60. Senior Amanda Bakley was next across the line with a ninth-place finish and personal-best of 5:16.96.

In field events, senior Atalia Lima won the high jump with a mark of 1.63m. Junior Janell Rowe tied for second with California (Pa.)'s Darcie Frazier and sophomore Holly Nation took ninth in the long jump. Nation also placed ninth in the 400 meters.

Senior Kallie Strauss surpassed her previous weight throw best of 13.53m set at the BGSU Dual on Jan. 17 with a new record of 14.78m to take seventh. Junior Chloee Kleespies also posted a personal-best in the weight throw with a toss of 13:29m.

The Rockets head to Akron, Ohio for the Akron Invitational, Feb. 6-8. The Rockets will also compete at the JDL Camel City Elite in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Feb. 8.
