BOSTON, Mass. – University of Toledo junior Marreon Jackson has been named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.
The Cleveland, Ohio native ranks third in the Mid-American Conference with a career-high 17.5 points per game. He also ranks second in the MAC with 6.0 assists per game and third with 2.3 steals per game.
Jackson, who was also a part of the preseason Henson Award list, scored a career-high 32 points on Tuesday at Kent State for his sixth 20-point outing of the season.
Jackson was one of four MAC players named to the list, joining Eugene German of Northern Illinois, Tahjai Teague of Ball State and Antonio Williams of Kent State.
Toledo will play its first home league game on Saturday when it hosts Western Michigan at 7:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.
The 2019-20 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced in April 2020 in Atlanta, Ga., site of the men's Division I NCAA Basketball Championship.
Players on teams from the following conferences are eligible for the award: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.
