Freshman Amelia Lee Wins Second Straight Summer Tournament

Toledo, Ohio – Incoming University of Toledo women's golf freshman Amelia Lee (Hilliard, Ohio) won her second straight Golfweek Junior Tour event earlier this week in the Girls 15-19 division at Northstar Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio. Lee, who also won a GJT event three weeks ago at Beavercreek Golf Club, carded rounds of 77-76 to finish at nine-over par 153.

Lee began the final round tied for first place before pulling away with four birdies over a six-hole stretch beginning at the fifth hole. She ended up finishing three shots ahead of her nearest competitor.

In Lee's victory at Beavercreek on July 6-7, she fired an even-par 144 (74-70) to register a 13-stroke victory.

Lee is one of four freshmen joining the Rockets' program this fall. Toledo opens its 2019-20 women's golf campaign with the inaugural Glass City Invitational at the Inverness Club.
