Toledo, Ohio – Head Coach
TJ Buchholz announced on Friday that midfielder
Josie Fowler (Perrysburg, Ohio)Â is transferring to the University of Toledo from Marquette University. Fowler is eligible to play for the Rockets in the upcoming 2019 season and has two years of eligibility remaining.
"We are very excited to have Josie join our program," said head coach
TJ Buchholz. "She was one of the top players in the Toledo area in high school before going to Marquette, and we were big fans of her playing style at that time. She continued to develop at a high level during her time at Marquette. We are looking forward to adding her creative ability to our midfield this fall."
As a redshirt freshman with the Golden Eagles, Fowler was a part of a 13-win squad that advanced to the Big East Tournament semifinals and earned a spot on the Big East All-Academic Team.
As a native of Perrysburg, Ohio, Fowler enjoyed a strong prep career and was a first-team all-state performer in her senior year at Perrysburg High School. She was ranked as the No. 26 recruit in the Great Lakes Region by TopDrawerSoccer in the class of 2016.
