Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo women's tennis team released its 2019-20 schedule today. The fall portion of the schedule features four tournaments as well as an alumnae weekend before the Rockets take on a challenging indoor and outdoor season.
"As always we have some great fall tourneys to get the players some tough matches under their belt early on. With four new players, this solid competition will be very important," said head coach
Tracy Mauntler. "We've added some new opponents this winter, including Marshall and West Virginia, which will really push the team to see what we are capable of."
Tournament play kicks off Sept. 13-14 at the BGSU Invitational followed by the WVU Invite Sept. 20-22 in Morgantown, W.Va. The Rockets will hit the UT Varsity Courts for the Toledo Invite, Oct. 11-12 before heading to the ITA Midwest Regionals, which will be hosted by Michigan State in Lansing, Mich. on Oct. 16-22. The fall portion of the season will wrap up with an Alumnae Day on Oct. 26.
The indoor portion of the season will feature five home matches against Youngstown State, Marshall, St. Francis, Findlay, and UIC at Twos Athletic Club in Toledo.
The Rockets will lift off for Georgia and South Carolina over spring break to take on Mercer, Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, and College of Charleston before returning north to open conference play.
March 22 is slated to be the Mid-American Conference opener for Toledo as it defends its home court against Northern Illinois. The Rockets will then face Western Michigan on March 27 before hitting the road to face Ball State, Eastern Michigan, and Buffalo. The Rockets will host defending champions Miami on April 12 before making a quick trip to Akron April 17 and capping the regular season at home against I-75 rival Bowling Green on April 19.
The MAC Tournament will be hosted by Miami in Oxford, Ohio on April 24-26.
