Toledo, Ohio - The University of Toledo women's track and field team is set to begin competition at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championship in Muncie, Ind. on Thursday. The meet is scheduled to run from Thursday to Saturday at the Briner Sports Complex at Ball State University. Gates will open to the public at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The Rockets enter competition after a quick tune-up at the Len Paddock Open in Ann Arbor last Friday. Toledo posted two MAC qualifying times, nine personal-bests, and seven top-five finishes. Senior Janelle Noe took first in the 1500 meters and posted a MAC qualifying time of 4:23.65. Junior Yana Khabina clocked a MAC qualifying time of 1:00.56 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Last season Toledo landed in third place at the MAC Meet, the second-best championship finish in program history, at the championship meet in Buffalo, N.Y. In the 1500m, Noe took first and set the MAC record of 4:17.01. Petronela Simiuc followed close behind, taking second with a time of 4:18.73 to become No. 2 All-Time in Toledo history. The 4x400m relay team composed on Nautica Hill, Yana Khabina, Christina Johnson, and Danda da Silva notched a program record as well, posting a time of 3:43.51 to take seventh.
