Pinyada Kuvanun to Begin Professional Journey in Virginia

5/20/2019 9:34:00 AM

Williamsburg, Va. – Former University of Toledo women's golfer Pinyada Kuvanun is taking the first step in her professional career on Monday by participating in a qualifier for this week's LGPA Pure Silk Championship (May 23-26). Kuvanun will tee off at 9:50 a.m. today on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort in hopes of earning a spot in her first professional tournament.

A three-time All-Mid-American Conference selection, Kuvanun set the Rockets' school career record for lowest stroke average (73.7) and also holds Toledo's top two single-season stroke averages - 72.8 in 2017-18 and 73.2 in 2018-19.

Kuvanun captured three individual titles in her collegiate career with her two victories this past season tying for the most in program history. She also holds school records for most rounds of par or under (41) and lowest 36-hole score (143) along with being tied for second for the lowest 54-hole total (210).

Kuvanun played a key role in the Rockets posting a 299.01 stroke average in the recently-completed 2018-19 season. That mark was just shy of the 2015-16 squad's school-record mark of 298.3. Toledo also registered a second-place finish in the Mid-American Conference Championships for the fifth time in the last seven years.
