TOLEDO, Ohio - Junior center Luke Knapke and sophomore guard Spencer Littleson have been named to the 2018-19 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league office announced on Friday. Knapke and Littleson helped Toledo to its second straight outright MAC West Division title with a 13-5 league record and a 25-8 overall win-loss mark. The Rockets also made their ninth National Invitation Tournament appearance in program history.
A management and marketing major with a 3.400 GPA, Knapke is being honored for a third straight year after averaging 10.5 points per game and ranking second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per game. The Maria Stein, Ohio native ranked third in the MAC with 1.4 blocks per game and sixth with a team-best 55.3 field-goal percentage. Knapke's 136 career blocked shots rank third in school history, 19 shy of the school record held by Nathan Boothe (2012-16). He scored in double digits on 18 occasions, including a career-high 22 points at Kent State and a 21-point, career-best 13-rebound effort vs. Central Michigan.
Littleson holds a 3.363 GPA in marketing and averaged 4.2 points with a 41.7 three-point field-goal percentage (40-of-96).
