Last Time Out
The Rockets are coming off a Friday doubleheader against Ball State in Muncie, Ind. that saw Toledo fall, 4-2, in game one but rally in the nightcap for an entertaining 5-2 victory. Sophomore pitcher Maggie McGurk recorded her sixth win of the season, while junior Morgan Paaverud went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and three walks between both games. Game two featured just the second time McGurk hasn't walked a batter while throwing at least three innings this year, a feat only matched by sophomore Erin Hunt who has accomplished it twice.
Â
The Rockets' streak of scoring first extended to an even 10 games in the first contest thanks to senior Kaitlyn Bergman, but the streak was snapped as the Cardinals put a run on the board first in the second game. Senior Megan Choate broke her individual season walk record too as she earned two free bases on balls in the first contest. Her 25 free bags this year rank ninth all-time at UT. Choate now ranks fourth all-time in career walks as well (72).

Last Time Against the Flyers
Toledo and Dayton met earlier in the season in the opening game of the UT Chattanooga Challenge on Feb. 15 where the Rockets escaped with a 6-5 victory thanks to a big third inning. Toledo was down 1-0 entering the frame but took the lead after a bases-loaded double, a walk, a HBP, a sac fly, two passed balls and a single brought four in. Sophomore Bekah Yenrick brought in three runners that day, while Hunt struck out nine batters through seven innings.
Â
Last Time Against the Broncos
WMU was Toledo's second-to-last competitor in the Mid-American Conference tournament last season. The Rockets walked away with a 5-2 victory after Megan Choate dinged a three-run homer in the fourth that brought around the game-winning runs; the homer was one of Toledo's three from the contest as Bailey Curry and Kaitlyn Bergman left the park as well. Heather Webb pitched 4.0 scoreless innings of relief and and allowed just two hits to earn the win.
