TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's golf team will receive its final tune-up for next weekend's conference championships when it travels to Columbus, Ohio for the 48th annual Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. The 54-hole tournament will be held Friday-Saturday, April 19-20, at Ohio State's par-71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course. Tee times from the No. 1 and 10 holes will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Rockets are competing in the Kepler event for the first time since 2012. The 14-team field includes five schools - No. 40 Florida, No. 45 Ohio State, No. 59 Michigan State, No. 61 Penn State and No. 81 Kent State - ranked in this week's Golfstat Top 100.
"The team is really looking forward to the stretch run, playing in our home state, and seeing some familiar regional faces," Head Coach Jeff Roope said. "The OSU Scarlet course is a great test of golf and a perfect lead in to the MAC championship for us."
Sophomore Grant Godfrey leads the Rockets with a 74.7 stroke average. Joining Godfrey in the lineup will be freshman David Amm (75.3), senior Duncan McNeill (75.3), freshman Muhammed Afif Mohd Fathi (75.3) and sophomore Dylan Van Fossen (76.2). Junior Rasmus Broholt Lind (75.9) will be competing as an individual.
McNeill paced Toledo at last weekend's Stitch Intercollegiate with a four-over par 148 (74-74).
Following this weekend, the Rockets will head to Aurora, Ohio for the Mid-American Conference Championship on Friday-Sunday, April 26-28.
