Toledo, Ohio - The Toledo men's tennis team will venture to Vestal, N.Y. for a 1:00 p.m. match on Saturday to meet Mid-American Conference opponent Binghamton for a second time this season. In the event the match is moved indoors from Lane Tennis Center, competition will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Binghamton Tennis Center.Â

The Rockets hosted MAC opponent Ball State on Friday, March 22, defeating the Cardinals 4-3 in a heart-wrenching thriller. UT started off with a win on the No. 2 doubles court from junior

Luka Vitosevic fought off twins Nemanja and Marko Guzina, 6-4. The Rockets posted two more points with quick wins from Espinosa and Vukotic on the No. 4 and No. 2 courts. Ball State then got on the board after knocking out wins on the No. 3 and No. 6 courts. Junior
Thawin Suksathaporn and Vitosevic were the only Rockets left, both locked in three-set battles with their opponents. Suksathaporn fell to Chris Adams 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 shortly before Vitosevic clinched the match with a 6-7(8), 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Marko Guzina.

On Sunday, March 24, the Rockets landed in South Bend, Ind. to take on No. 14 Notre Dame. Despite putting up a solid fight, UT fell 7-0 to the Fighting Irish. In doubles action, Espinosa and senior
Reid Teatsorth caught up to Paul Gota/Axel Nefve, but their match was left unfinished 4-5 on the No. 2 court. In singles play, two Rockets won a set for UT. Espinosa won his first set 7-5 against Daniel Rayl. Rayl took the second set 6-2, before securing the victory 1-0 in the third. Senior
Serjen Olmedo also locked into a three-set battle after dropping the first set 4-6 and winning the second 6-4 against Gota. Olmedo dropped the final set to Gota 0-1.

Scouting Binghamton
Binghamton is currently 8-11 on the season, posting 7-0 sweeps over St. Bonaventure and Niagara. The Bearcats also edged out Navy, 4-3, and defeated Army, 5-2, in February. Since opening MAC competition, BU has gone 0-4 in conference play.

Last season the Bearcats went 5-17 (1-6 in the MAC), posting 7-0 sweeps over Niagara and St. Bonaventure, 4-3 triumphs of George Mason and Toledo, and a 5-2 victory over Colgate. On seven occasions, the Bearcats fell 6-1 to their opponents including Clemson, Brown, Temple, and Penn.
