Rockets Drop Contest Against Ball State

Toledo, Ohio – The University of Toledo women's tennis team fell to Mid-American Conference opponent Ball State, 7-0, at Twos Athletic Club in Toledo on Sunday.

"This was an extremely disappointing match for us," said head coach Tracy Mauntler. "Ball State outplayed us and we didn't respond well. I expect the players to have a focused week of practice to prepare for Akron."

The Rockets had a tough start, dropping the doubles point early.

In singles action, freshman Eileen Carney started out strong on the No. 2 court, capturing the first set against Sarah Swiderski 7-6(4). Swiderski pushed for a third set by taking the second 7-5. Carney was unable to clinch the third, falling 6-10.
